The speaker is designed and manufactured by GK in the U.S.A. There's a balanced DI with pre/post switch, aux in and headphone output for silent practice plus "chain out" to drive GK's MBP powered enclosures.
Inherited from the 800RB, the unique variable Q design varies the EQ bandwidth to retain a musical response even at extreme settings. The extremely lightweight switch mode power supply and power amp deliver 100W into the speaker with very little wasted heat dissipation. The internal circuitry is always on the alert to problems, indicated at the power switch ring. The amp contains a special driver with a 2-inch edge wound aluminium voice coil, designed just for this cabinet, manufactured in the GK USA factory. With an aluminium chassis, switch mode power supply and power amp, this ultra light weight package deliver 100W performance in a rugged 21lb package.
The Gallien Krueger design team tuned the port for optimum performance while coupled to the cabinets specific designed speaker. The port coupled with a specific jute blend of damping material provides the right amount of damping at the right frequencies, for optimum response.
