With 7" woofers, a dedicated 4" driver for the midrange, and HEDD's very own high definition Air Motion Transformer (HEDD AMT), this compact and uber-flexible 3-way system offers plenty of power, dynamics, and openness even at very high levels. It can be used in the near- and midfield and is suitable for literally every thinkable studio challenge, may it be mixing, producing, the fine art of recording or in depth mastering.
Just like the other MK2 models, the TYPE 20 MK2 is a powerhouse of innovation: A powerful SHARC-DSP enables the onboard Lineariser® to completely flatten the speaker phase and create a fascinating stereo image and depth. In addition, the speaker supports our latest Closed or Ported (CoP) technology. You can choose between two distinct sound options: For experiencing the maximum in accuracy and detail insert the customized foam plugs into the bass port and choose the Closed-mode. For the ability to run the speakers at higher volumes and maintain energy and access to low bass, "Open“ (no plugs) is the way to go.
Other great features include 3 distinct Desktop filters, 2 Shelving filters to further adapt the speakers to your room, and a Bass-Extension mode that lets you access even lower frequency areas (at the cost of some SPL). All the controls of the new line can be accessed via stepped aluminium potentiometers.
